TrickMate is a chess game. It asks for as little about you as it can, and what it does keep exists only to run the game.
What is stored
- A phone number, if you choose to sign in. It is stored as a one-way HMAC-SHA256 hash and cannot be reversed. Separately, the last four digits are kept in readable form so the app can show you which number you are signed in with.
- Your PIN, hashed with scrypt and a per-account random salt. It is never stored in readable form.
- A random device token that identifies you to the game. This is what actually holds your seat in a game.
- A display name, only if you set one. Your opponents see it.
- Your games — moves, cards played, results, rating, and win/loss record against opponents.
- A push notification token, if you allow notifications.
What is not collected
- No real name, email address, date of birth, or payment details
- No location data of any kind
- No contacts, photos, camera, or microphone access
- No advertising identifiers, no ad networks, no analytics or tracking SDKs
- No chat or messaging between players
Signing in is optional
You can play without signing in at all. A phone number is only used to recognise you as the same person across two devices — so a game started on a phone can be continued on a computer. It is never used to contact you, and it is never shared or sold.
Who else sees anything
Notifications are delivered through Expo's push service, which passes them
to Apple (APNs) or Google (FCM). Those services receive your push token and
the text of the notification — for example
Alice has moved in game AV4Y. Nothing else is shared with anyone,
and no data is sold.
The game runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States.
How long things are kept
- A game invitation nobody accepts is deleted after 7 days
- A finished game is deleted about 2 days after it ends
- A game in progress is kept for up to 30 days after the last move
- Your account, rating and record are kept until you ask for deletion
Deleting your data
Email support@flrtalert.com from any address, tell us the last four digits of the number you signed in with, and we will delete the account, its rating, its record and its games. There is nothing retained afterwards.
Children
TrickMate is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
